CLINTON - HUDSON VALLEY, NEW YORK

Clinton was acquired in August 2018 as a foreclosure following extensive fire damage. Much of the interior had been compromised, and the building required a full reconstruction comparable in scope to Hancock.

The work began with stabilizing and rebuilding the structure. A new lower-level
residence was created through excavation, allowing the basement to function as a complete residence rather than ancillary space. Floors were replaced throughout, a new roof was installed, and all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems were rebuilt. Modern kitchens and baths were introduced across all residences, executed with the same restraint and attention to detail as the rest of the house.

The property sits on a triple lot overlooking the Hudson River. Landscape work focused on reestablishing a clear relationship between the house and its site, reinforcing views and circulation without competing with the architecture.

The house is believed to have been constructed circa 1845 and has undergone
numerous changes over its lifetime, including significant additions in the nineteenth century and periods of subdivision in the early twentieth century. These layers informed the reconstruction while allowing the house’s history to remain present without being overtly referenced.

Clinton Street was completed with Grey acting as both developer and general
contractor, maintaining direct involvement throughout design and construction. The project reflects the same approach applied across the portfolio: careful execution, material consistency, and an emphasis on producing complete, durable residences within historically complex structures.
